With the launch of their new backcountry freestyle concept, Norrøna went back to the roots to seek out the true definition of the concept; back to Narvik. This industrial area is surrounded by stunning nature.

You’re able to reach big mountains with great view as well as playful urban riding. With them they have freestyle skier Even Sigstad and professional snowboarder Andreas Wiig, add some centimeters of powder to this mix, and the result is what you see here.

Ambassador Andreas Wiig & Even Sigstad

-Narvik has everything. You take the gondola to the top of the mountain to get that backcountry feel with powder and nice lines, you get fun turns in the forest, and on top of this you find a lot of great rails down in the city, says Andreas Wiig.

The new narvik concept consists of freestyle inspired products for skiers and snowboarders, in the slopes or in the backcountry, and as reflected in the place itself, it’s both functional and playful.

-The narvik shoot with Norrøna preceded all my expectations; we were very lucky with the conditions, got lots of fresh powder and good weather. For me this was the perfect vacation (I consider all days where I don’t have a film camera in my backpack as a vacation), says Even Sigstad.
